EXERCISE INDRA-18 CULMINATES AT BABINA MILITARY STATION WITH AN IMPRESSIVE CLOSING CEREMONY ON 28 NOVEMBER 2018

. The Tenth Edition of a joint military exercise in the series of Exercise INDRA 2018 culminated on 28 November 2018 after a Joint Tactical Exercise and an impressive Closing Ceremony held at Babina Military Station. The eleven day long joint training that commenced on 18 November 2018 included developing interoperability between the two armies, arriving at a common understanding of transnational terrorism and conduct of a joint tactical operation under Chapter VII of the United Nations Charter for peace enforcement.


. Senior military officials of both the countries witnessed a Joint Tactical Exercise conducted at Babina Field Firing Ranges. The contingents of both the countries displayed great enthusiasm and professionalism while practicing joint drills during the conduct of exercise and it was a great learning experience for both the participating Nations. During the Closing Ceremony, Major General PS Minhas, General Officer Commanding, White Tiger Division of Indian Army and Major General Tsekov Oleg Moosovich, Cdr 5th Army from Russian Army jointly reviewed the parade commanded by Colonel Ajay Chauhan and Lieutenant Colonel Kozim who were the parade commanders on part of the Indian and Russian contingents respectively.

While addressing the ceremony Major General PS Minhas, congratulated the participating nations for an Exercise very well conducted and said that “Exercise INDRA 2018 has provided us all an opportunity to discuss the issue of Countering Terrorism from the military point of view with an endeavour to create synergy, better understanding and evolving an institutionalised mechanism for regional cooperation in the field of Counter Terrorist Operations.” Major General Tsekov Oleg Moosovich, from the Russian Army also addressed the contingents and said that “the key to the success of the exercise has been a very high level of cooperation between both the nations”. Towards the end of the closing ceremony, the reviewing officers declared the exercise INDRA -18 closed and ensured that the time tested friendship between both the nations will keep growing with these kind of joint military exercises.
