Hon’ble Mayor, Mrs Bhatia was received and briefed about the aspects related to the process of payment along with other special features of the Metro Stations by Director/Operations and Director/Rolling Stock. She also visited the Station Control Room and took an overview of the station premises.
A MoU was signed between LMRCL and Nagar Nigam in November,2018 which paved way for the first ever integration of its kind in the country through which GoSmart Metro Card users could pay their House/property tax at TOM (Ticket Operating Machine) counters & Excess Fare Office (EFO) of all the Metro stations of Lucknow. This facility has come into effect from today onward after the formal inauguration of the same by the Hon’ble Mayor of Lucknow today.
This initiative will propagate the idea of smart travel which will gradually extend from commuters to all the citizens of the city. Moreover, the Go Smart card users will soon be able to pay their BSNL pre/postpaid bills further extending consumer services through one card. LMRC will collect the tax payments and it will reflect in the tax payer’s account within 3 days from the date of payment via ‘Go Smart Metro card’. The receipt obtained from the TOM (Ticket Operating Machine) counter will have all the essential details like the Contact, address, tax amount and receipt no. of the tax payer.
If any case of rejection arises during the process of transaction the concerned tax payer will be notified about the rejected transaction and the refunded amount can be claimed in respective ‘Go Smart Card’ at the specific TOM counter.
Appreciating the LMRC team on the successful launch of this facility, Mrs Sanyukta Bhatia said, “This initiative of facilitating cashless house tax payment through GoSmart Metro Cards by Lucknow Metro is a commendable move in line with Hon’ble Prime Minister’s vision of Digital India and cashless transactions.”
