KNOW YOUR ARMY - FESTIVAL' BEGINS IN LUCKNOW CANTT WITH A GRAND OPENING CEREMONY.

The Army Day 2024 celebrations commenced with the vibrant ‘Know Your Army Festival’ in Lucknow Cantt. The highly anticipated 3-day festival, unfolded today with great enthusiasm as it showcased a mesmerizing display of military equipment, martial arts displays military bands and many other attractions. The inauguration ceremony, graced by Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Shri Yogi Adityanath, Army Commander, Central Command, Lt Gen NS Raja Subramani, Uttar Pradesh Cabinet Minister Shri Swatantra Dev Singh, Chief Secretary of Uttar Pradesh Shri Durga Shankar Misra, Lt General Mukesh Chadha,  and other senior military and civil dignitairies, marked the commencement of this three-day extravaganza. The occasion was further enriched by the enthusiastic participation of students from various schools and colleges, NCC cadets and citizens of Lucknow. 

Speaking on the occasion Chief Minister Shri Yogi Adityanath paid tributes to our gallant soldiers who have laid down their lives to defend our nation. “The Indian Army is a symbol of the strength and courage of the 140 crore people of our  country”, he said. He highlighted that only a strong army can realize the vision of a secure and sovereign nation. He highlighted that it is a matter of pride that Central Command, with its headquarters in Lucknow has been selected to host the 76th Army Day Parade on 15 Jan 2024. This is a unique  opportunity for the youth of the state to know the Indian Army and be inspired by their bravery and valour. The Chief Minister also assured of the  state Government's  commitment towards the welfare of  serving and retired soldiers.

Army Commander, Lt Gen Raja Subramani highlighted that it was a proud moment for Central Command and Lucknow City to host the Army Day Parade this year. Traditionally Army Day Parades  were held in Delhi upto 2022. The decision to shift the event outside Delhi is aimed to promote a greater outreach and understanding of Indian Army in other regions of the Country. The Army Commander also reassured that Indian Army and Central Command remain fully prepared and committed to meet the security challenges along the borders in this region.  Commander interacting with school children and NCC cadets emphasised on the significance of understanding and appreciating the advancements in military technology.

 organization provided an opportunity to youth to gain insight into career opportunities and the latest developments related to military service. Live  demonstrations showcased the capabilities of state-of-the-art military weapons and gave the youth a first experience of modern military equipment. The quiz contest, a highlight of the event, engaged participants in a challenging yet enlightening competition, where the winners were awarded with specially curated souvenirs. This rare opportunity allowed attendees to witness first-hand the cutting-edge technologies employed by our armed forces, fostering a deeper understanding of Indian Army and its formidable might. This festival is a unique opportunity to gain insight into  resources that give a cutting edge capabilitiy to our Army. 

The Know your  Army- Festival, which is part of the Army Day 2024 celebrations, will be open till 4 pm on  07 January,  for all citizens.
