ASEAN DEFENCE MINISTERS MEETING PLUS EXPERT WORKING GROUP TALKS ON MILITARY MEDICINE BEGIN IN LUCKNOW

ASEAN Defence Ministers Meeting (ADMM) and Expert Working Group (EWG) on Military Medicine is being organised today at Surya Command.

The aim of the conference is to establish better co-operation in medical operations amongst ASEAN and ASEAN Plus countries for civil support by Military Operations other than War (MOOTW) especially Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Response missions (HADRM). The flagship event will be conducted till 06th Dec 2018.

The delegates of ASEAN countries to include Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines, Myanmar, Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia, Brunei and ASEAN plus countries to include United States of America, Russia, China, Australia, New Zealand, Japan and South Korea arrived at Lucknow yesterday. At the outset of this mega event, a bilateral talk was held between India and Myanmar since both the countries are co-chairing the event. The meeting was attended by Indian Army delegation from Directorate General of Medical Services and Defence Cooperation Division. Progress on 3rd Cycle of ADMM Plus Expert Working Group on Military Medicine, modalities for conduct of Field Training Exercise and issues related to 2nd ASEAN Military Medicine Conference were discussed in a cordial environment.
