ARMY AIR DEFENCE CELEBRATES SILVER JUBILEE CORPS DAY

The Corps of Army Air Defence celebrated the Silver Jubilee of its raising on 10 January 2019 at the Headquarters Central Command in Lucknow.
To commemorate the occasion Brigadier Sunil Dhawan (Retired) and Brigadier Sanjay Sethi, Brigadier, Army Air Defence laid a wreath at “Smritika War Memorial” in revered remembrance of the martyrs who laid down their lives for the safety & security of the nation.
This was followed by a felicitation ceremony of Veterans and Veer Naris and a Lunch at Sainik Institute for veterans and serving Junior Commissioned Officers/Other Ranks of Army Air Defence.
Lieutenant General Abhay Krishna, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Central Command in his complementary message commended all ranks of the Corps of Army Air Defence for their valuable contribution towards keeping the nation’s air space safe both during peace and war as also complemented them for maintaining high standards of operational readiness and exhorted them to rededicate themselves to the resolve of achieving the pinnacle of professionalism.
The Corps of Army Air Defence has been actively involved in defending the nation against hostile air threat and has given a good account of itself both in peace and war. In addition, the Air Defence Units and its personnel deputed with Rashtriya Rifles and field formations in counter insurgency roles have displayed utmost dedication and courage and have won several laurels and commendations including three Military Crosses and over a hundred other Gallantry Awards.
