70th NCC DAY CELEBATIONS KICK OFF IN
‘RUN FOR FUN’ CONDUCTED AT 1090 CROSSING
LUCKNOW, 25 NOV 2018
A weeklong NCC Day celebrations started in Lucknow with the event ‘Run For Fun’ today. “Run for Fun” wasconducted from 0700 to 0830h in the general area of 1090 crossing near Janeshwar Mishra Park. Around 850 people participated in the event to make it a success. The event was planned to create awareness amongst the NCC Cadets as well as General Public on the environmental/Social concerns besetting the nation.
Maj Gen A K Sapra, ADG NCC UP Directorate was the Chief Guest on the occasion. He flagged off the Run for the event. The event was flagged off with a troop of Harley Davidsons leading the race. There were three categories (Red, Yellow & Pink) of enthusiastic Runners based on Age. Group-1 included Men below 25yrs (around 550 in number), Group-2 included Women below 25 yrs (around 200 in number) and Group-3 included all persons above 25 yrs of age (around 100). Special children also participated in this event.
Mr. Sachin Pal was declared winner in category ‘Red’ while Mr. Guddu Singh was the runner-up. In Yellow category, Vishal Kumar and Anup Pandey were declared winner and runner-up respectively.
Ms Rinki Dwivedi got first place and was declared winner while Ms Roshani Sahu was runner-up. To keep the enthusiasm and vitality in the air, class XIII student Gaurica V Mishra was cheering the participants with her energetic comparing.
First five candidates in each category were awarded the medals by Maj Gen A K Sapra and Mrs Sadhna Sapra on the conclusion of the event.
The “Run for Fun” event was aimed to draw a sizable crowd to promote a sense of fitness and wellbeing. Since NCC is deeply associated with the development of youth, conduct of such an events will go a long way to further foster the spirit of physical and mental fitness and robustness of character and stamina
The wreath laying ceremony will be carried out at ‘Shaheed Smarak’, Lucknow on NCC day from 0830 to 0930h on 26 Nov 2018.
The event has been planned to
commemorate the sacrifice made by Armed Force Personnel and pay homage to them in a befitting manner. The event will be attended by all NCC officers in the station, ANOs, and 150 NCC Cadets. Maj Gen AK Sapra, ADG, UP NCC would be the chief Guest for the occasion.
